IUCN CEESP and the co-chairs of the CEESP Specialist Group on Indigenous Peoples, Customary & Environmental Laws & Human Rights invited speakers to discuss the status of indigenous peoples and the importance of recognition and promotion of indigenous peoples' customary institutions for protection of indigenous knowledge, cultural practices and traditional livelihoods.
