Why rural women are the heroes of our time
Ecosia is the search engine that plants trees: https://ecosia.co/info
Climate change affects women more than men. Minorities, of all gender identities, are more vulnerable to extreme weather events. With less access to education and limited financial means to protect themselves, women in rural areas are less likely to survive when extreme weather events hit their communities. In fact, about 80% of those displaced by climate change are women.
