This briefing will discuss the outcomes of the third meeting of the ad hoc open-ended expert group on marine litter and microplastics that was held from 18-22 November 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Ad Hoc Open Ended Expert Group was established in response to the resolution UNEP/EA.3/Res.7, on marine litter and microplastics, adopted by the United Nations Environment Assembly at its third session, in December 2017.
