Innovative Solutions to Support Quality & Safety of Health Products
Description
In parallel with the 72nd World Health Assembly in Geneva, Chemonics International is hosting a dialogue centered on innovative solutions to achieve quality assurance in global health supply chains. Although an enormous quantity of products move through global health supply chains on a daily basis, the effectiveness of those health commodities are sometimes uncertain. Medicines are intentionally falsified or poorly stored and handled through the supply chain deteriorating its quality, increasing drug resistance, and other unintended consequences. Our panelists will lead a discussion on ensuring the quality and safety of priority medicines through applications of technology such as the use of the Internet of Things (IoT) for climate monitoring of ambient health commodities, and innovative approaches such as quality standards that strengthen health systems. Together, we’ll explore case studies on protecting public health in Mozambique, Mauritania, and other sub-Saharan African countries.
Join us on Monday, May 20 for breakfast and an interactive panel discussion. Further details will be forthcoming — we look forward to seeing you in Geneva at #WHA72. If you have any questions, please reach out to SupplyChainTeam@chemonics.com.
