The International Telecommunication Union together with Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions, United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, UN Environment, United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, UN Global Compact, United Nations Human Settlements Programme, United Nations Industrial Development Organization and UN-Women is organizing the 13th Symposium on ICT, Environment and Climate Change, which will take place from 1100 to 1730 hours on 13 May 2019 in Geneva, Switzerland. The theme of this year's Symposium is “The role of frontier technologies in combating climate change and achieving a circular economy".

This Symposium will be collocated with the ITU-T Study Group 5: Environment, Climate Change and Circular Economy meeting taking place from 13 to 22 May 2019.
Objectives
The symposium will bring together industry experts, policymakers, representatives from the ICT sector, international organizations, the academia and other key stakeholders to share their expertise and jointly discuss the latest trends in leveraging artificial intelligence, IoT, and other frontier technologies to develop innovative climate solutions, as well as moving towards a circular economy.
