How to Shape a Future that Works - Transforming the global response to the future of work
11/05/2019
Description
We are living through an era of immense change in all areas of human life, particularly with regards to the way we work. New technological opportunities are emerging with the potential to create but also automate jobs. Innovation, particularly in industrialised economies, has allowed for more flexible working arrangements. At the same time, the pace of change has yet to be matched by strength in policy response. Leaders are grappling with ways to address the turbulence caused by automation and artificial intelligence, new working arrangements, demographic shifts, migration flows and climate change. In January 2019, the International Labour Organisation’s (ILO) Global Commission on the Future of Work published its recommendations on how to shape a future with social justice.
