The theme of this year’s Forum - Shaping Development Conversations in Africa: The Role of Media in the Digital Environment – was the outcome of that reflective and consultative effort.
The theme eloquently speaks to one of AMI’s deepest concerns, which is that media in Africa do not contribute effectively to the continent’s development agenda.
Informations
• All the themes will be discussed in plenary sessions.
• There will be thematic exhibitions with a Media Space that will offer a free venue for all participating media houses to showcase their products and engage in partnership discussions;
• An AMI Open-House will display the organization’s service offerings.
• Sponsors’ Exhibition Area.
• Four training boot camps for journalists on subjects that are yet to be chosen, and a special symposium on Overcoming Hate Speech in Media will take place in the lead up to the Forum.
• Launch of the first Africa Media Awards – the Zimeo – to celebrate excellence in African media.
