Disruptive Innovation Festival
A valued circular Economy
06/11/2015
Description
Disruptive Innovation Festival brings together thought-leaders, entrepreneurs, businesses, makers, learners and doers to catalyse system-level change for a future economy. To be successful, a circular economy must also be socially inclusive and shift from evaluating success by financial measures only and towards a creation of values across the board. A Valued Circular Economy looks at how emerging markets could also embark on the circular economy revolution based on 3 main axis: Axis 1: People's Inclusiveness: where one can access goods for all, reducing poverty; Axis 2: People's Value Creation: where one can access more with less, reducing financial credit; Axis 3: People's Well-being: where one can access secured income, reducing unemployment rates; Alex Lemille explores how by adopting a Valued Circular Economy, where people and value creation are at its core, we could successfully shift to this new framework where well-being will be enhanced. Since 2010 Alex has been working with the UN Global Compact on how to improve Communication On Progress of corporations as a way to enhance businesses’ transparency as well as best practices among UNGC LEAD companies. His work was part of a book that was distributed during the Rio+20 Summit in Spring 2012 called “Globally Responsible Leadership: Business According to the UN Global Compact”.
