Will the promise of equitable access to covid vaccines be kept?
The development of vaccines for the Corona virus that has ravaged the whole world for the past one year offers hope that we may finally put the virus behind us.
However this will only be possible if high income countries will keep their promise of equitable access to vaccines.
Did you know that as of now more than 39 million doses of vaccines have been administered in atleast 49 high income countries while only 25 have been administered in one lowest income country.
The world is on the brink of catastrophic moral failure.The price of this failure will be paid with lives and livelihoods of world's poorest countries.
This is the time for the world to come together as one. We can't afford to let competition and differences get between us. We have an opportunity to learn from past pandemic mistakes and get ahead of the corona virus.
