The power of information

In the past the problem of free flow of information was scarcity although in recent times the problem has become figuring out which information is factual and which is false or a conspiracy.

With the corona virus a lot of information both factual and false have been sacculating causing most people to be skeptical about the vaccine which is in the long run can cause even more damage the the virus has.

The information era has always faced a lot of criticism with media censorship or fact less internet disinformation and thus the question remains, is too much information misinformation? Is there a need to scrutinize information going to the public before it is released?
