The Myanmar (Burma) crisis
With the current military coup in Myanmar, the political atmosphere is increasingly becoming volatile leading to fear of mass outbreak of violence and prosecution especially to the vulnerable communities.
The response of the international community does not come as a surprise with the United States condemning such action which could lead to an even more volatile state. While China's response is to urge the west not to add fuel to the fire but rather promote dialogue.
With rising tensions the international community has not really done much and those in a position to make a difference such as their trading and military partners ;China and India are not getting actively involved.
The question now remains, can Myanmar return to democracy ?
