Probably you've heard,mentioned,seen or come across this rule: The 3R's (RRR- Reduce Reuse Recycle). This simply means in our war to #SingleUsePlastics it is the greatest ammunition we got at hand.
Plastics are really a great issue in the Climate Action war. This is because they are a source to very many problems, some of them being:-
a) Destroying the soil structure, due to their very long span before decaying.
b) Cause water, air pollution; blocking waterways,troughs,the carbon produced when burnt.
c) Destroy the aquatic life making life under water unbearable. e.g plastic straws blocking turtle noses.
d) Uses a lot of energy during production hence contributing to a lot of Carbon emissions to the atmosphere; ozone layer depletion.
e) Plastic utensils have been included among the list of items that lead to cancer since they leak toxins which also lead to damage of the liver and thyroids.
The list is endless, we can always fight this menace by always applying the "Reduce Reuse Recycle" Formula.
