Their village name means "True Village" in English.
Thei lives depend much from the forest.
They are sending their children to school, able to afford good food and medical care, being freed from debt, labor and sex slavery, and are experiencing sustainable farming and fishing as their land, villages and local economies are restored to health, all from the sustainable forest, (ERP, 2017).
The importance of forests cannot be underestimated. We depend on forests for our survival, from the air we breathe to the wood we use. Besides providing habitats for animals and livelihoods for humans, forests also offer watershed protection, prevent soil erosion and mitigate climate change, (ECHO East Africa, 2020).
