Did you know that economic growth and climate action are not antagonistic?
Economic growth essentially involves exploitation of natural resources to make products as a result, the end product is environmental degradation and pollution. This makes the ecosystem to be vulnerable to climate impacts since it cannot regenerate to its initial state.
However, there are in-depth studies that have discovered beyond doubt that undertaking economic growth and addressing climate change need not to be antagonistic to each other as seen in Denmark where the country has developed its energy capacity by using solar mechanism while maintaining the country's emission levels as per their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC).
It is important to allude that there is still time to address climate change however, the actors need to proceed at a high speed in order to achieve the sustainable development goals by reducing the global warming temperatures below 2 degrees celcius with respect to pre-industrial era.
"Climate change is real, action needs to be done, economic growth is a necessity!" Lets go green
