ANOTHER YEAR,ANOTHER TREE!
Give it a second and think of, if you planted a tree in each and every year you turned a year older, how many trees would yo have planted so far? Or maybe plant the number of age you turn every year to commemorate your birthday?
My hope is that if not the whole world just a single person out there, community or organization get to implement such an initiative of planting trees during birthdays ,anniversaries, graduations, weddings and all special days you can name. This will then be really fun while conserving nature in the name of celebrations and marking our special days.
Planting of trees will enable the earth to:
- Protect the soil from erosion.
- Create a home for animals. e.g. birds nests
- Reduce wind erosion.
- Reduce carbon footprint.
- Increase forest cover and meet Goal 13 (Climate Action)
- Provide food and medicine. e.g mango trees,Neem tree
- Provide shade in green spaces
- And so many other advantages you can name.
If you have never planted a tree, you can try this month or before the year ends. It is very heart satisfying giving back to mother nature.
Even the ocean and seas all began from a drop of water.
