PROTECTING GREEN SPACES.
Green spaces play a big role in our community and the climate cycle at large.
They come along with different advantages like: helping reduce carbon print in the atmosphere, provide playing space for the kids,enable the youth to give back to community by ensuring maintenance of the space and so many other advantages.
A big round of applause to the Komb Green Solutions group for stepping up the war front to fight for the Korogocho Park where they have changed the face of a dumpsite to a park where people can have space to relax,kids to play,planting of more trees and flowers, provide WIFI to the community which is not partly affordable to everyone in the community,taking care of the Nairobi river, cleaning it and raising awareness on keeping the river clean.
A noticeable change is also that this green space has offered and transformed both the two genders without any discrimination. It has enabled them to acquire some training on how to start businesses and own money to sustain them instead of indulging into crime acts.
If the government can invest in such community groups, then their small acts can be magnified.
Change begins with you, always try your best to be a solution to a problem not a problem to be solved.
