Inclusive Multilateralism for effective climate responses.
Patricia Espinosa, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change stresses on the importance of an approach to climate action that empowers bottom-up action, in the form of inclusive multilateralism.
There is need to have more stakeholders at the climate change table. Knowledge of the local communities is essential in crafting effective climate responses and ensures their implementation as there is buy-in from the bottom. In designing the responses we need to bring together education and climate literacy, monitoring frameworks and get institution support as they are an essential part of the climate equation.
We need to see leadership, more action, recognize the urgency that we are facing and make a commitment to a decisive multilateral response globally.
