World turtle day 23rd May
In celebration of world turtle day the conservation of turtles and tortoises is of key importance as they play a vital role in the ecosystem in their surroundings be it in the ocean with coral reefs or on land with localized vegetation.
Tortoises not only belong to the oldest class of reptiles they also have a long life span. As we celebrate world turtle day we should take steps in ensuring these creature s are taken care of and conserved as almost half of their species is extinct.
One way of doing this is through educating the masses and spreading awareness, be it through school programs or movies and animations, preserving vital creatures in the ecosystem is better for the environment and biodiversity.
