With the shift from fossil fuels to a more renewable form of energy marking the third industrial revolution, a lot of change is expected. The reduction of green house gas emitions from fossil fuels being the biggest change from the change to renewable energy.
Unlike fossil fuels renewable energy increases energy security as there is no oil spills or disruption of the ocean surface by drilling for oil. It also creates employment as there is a significant percentage of people already employed in the renewable energy sector than in fossil fuels.
