Plastic pollution in the ocean
Plastic is one of the most non degradable forms of waste on the plant and has a life span of decades if not centuries. Scientists over the years have identified that the plastic waste found in the ocean is much older and plastic from recent years is mostly found nearer the shore and is continuously being washed back and forth from the shore to the beach.
Microplastics and some plastics end up at the bottom of the ocean and in the biodiversity in the ocean which can end up killing the biodiversity, in which it does.
One way we can stop plastic waste is by ensuring that it does not end up in the ocean in the first place, through recycling , reusing and repurposing.
Plastic production and consumption contribute to greenhouse gas emissions, devalues marine ecosystems, and chokes the wildlife that makes our oceans so diverse.
