Food waste problem to Environment?
Food waste is clogging up landfills and sending greenhouse gases into the air. While we throw out perfectly good food, others go hungry.
WHAT TO DO TO STOP FOOD WASTE; (According to WFP).
1. Plan ahead and make a list to avoid too much food and impulse-buying at the supermarket.
2. Donate any extra fresh produce and vegetables to Ample Harvest and local food banks.
3. When preparing for large meals, use an online portion calculator, such as one from Love Food Hate Waste.
4. Afterwards, take notes on how much food was actually consumed to better plan for next time.
5. Find new uses for “waste,” like turning vegetable scraps and bones into soup stock. And love your leftovers by exploring new recipes.
