Wet lands are a critical part of our natural environment.they protect our shores from wave action, reduce the impacts of floods , absorb pollutants and improve water quality.they provide habitat for animals and plants and many contain a wide diversity of life supporting plants and animals that are found no where else.
Wet lands are important features in the landscape that provide numerous beneficials services for people and for fish and wildlife some of these services,or functions , includes protecting and improving water quality providing fish and wildlife habitats , includes protecting and improving water quality, providing fish and wildlife habitats storing flood waters and maintaining surface water flow during dry period .these valuable functions are the results of the unique natural characteristic of wet lands
