HAPPY INTERNATIONAL DAY OF FORESTS 2021
During my walk in one of the forests in Kenya Tigoni Forest,Limuru I really enjoyed the scenes came across a lot of indigenous trees, monkeys, butterflies and so many wild flies and flowers.
It was a very heartwarming experience as I got to unwind after a very tough and long week at work,it was a breather for me.
What I can challenge us is that we create more and more forests like this so as to mitigate climate crisis that we are facing offlate, such as very high temperatures which are becoming unbearable, floods and so many other disasters.
Just to mention a few of importances of forests :-
1. They act us habitat for the wild animals. E.g monkeys
2.They really hold the soil hence stopping soil erosion
3.They provide medicine e.g Balm Tree
4.They act as carbon ventilators.
5. They provide food..e.g wild berries
As we commemorate the International Day of Forests today let's keep on planting and supporting afforestation.
