TANZANIA MOURNS MAGUFULI
I have repeatedly watched the current president of the Republic of Tanzania Her Excellency Honourable Samia Suluhu break the news of the demise of former President John Pombe Magufuli. The heaviness in her voice brings me back to a humane emotive take on his death.
His death is heavily masked with controversy mainly with the current COVID-19 pandemic. Highly rumoured to have caused it.
However I would like to eulogize this man as a courageous leader. He, for the best part of his term as president had Tanzania's best interest at heart and aimed to make the economy of the country capable of sustaining the nation without donor intervention. He was a very practical progressive leader with a great sense of humour. His insistence on keeping God first made his people build trust and admiration for him.
However his ignorance to acknowledge the ongoing corona pandemic made him controversial since he was responsible for the lives of a whole nation. His decisions were greatly prejudiced towards science but he was slowly warming up to the idea of face masks in the country from his earlier firm stand of no masks.
He was a loved leader by his people and they truly mourn for him. UNABLE ARE THE LOVED TO DIE FOR LOVE IS IMMORTALITY.
