Act with Children; Raise a sustainable generation
" Young people should be at the forefront of global change and innovation. Empowered, they can be key agents for development and peace. If, however, they are left on society’s margins, all of us will be impoverished. Let us ensure that all young people have every opportunity to participate fully in the lives of their societies." Kofi Annan Taking up a challenge of raising a generation that has SDGs at heart. She challenges everyone to teach and instil the values we want to see in children.
The contribution of early childhood education into a sustainable society includes;
Parents/Guardians/Adults should act as role models- We cannot tell a child to plant a tree to maintain water sources unless we do
Policy makers should include SDGs in the education of children at elementary levels, if Environmental conservation is part of the syllabus coverage a teacher has no excuse not to teach about it
To the teachers and everyone responsible in the school levels we should teach children about it and they will take charge of the next generation
"We owe it to ourselves and to the next generation to conserve the environment so that we can bequeath our children a sustainable world that benefits all." Wangari Mathai
Children are very important and sustainability means meeting our own needs without compromising the ability of future generations (children) to meet their own needs
