Happy birthday to Roots & Shoots from these young members from all around the world! 30 years ago today, Dr. Jane Goodall stood on her porch in Tanzania with a group of High School students who shared their dismay at the growing problems around them.
What were they to do? But Jane saw their passion and their spark - their innate ability to create change - and encouraged them to use their voices and actions to make a difference. Roots & Shoots was born.
Today, Roots & Shoots exists in all 50 united states and over 60 countries worldwide.
Beyond making an impact in their communities all over the globe, these young changemakers have grown up to hold positions in government, biomedical engineering, education, animal welfare, conservation, sustainability and more.
