NCD Alliance 72nd WHA Side Event - Rethinking Global Health - A prerequisite for achieving UHCHA72 Side Event on UHC NCDs
Against the backdrop of the 72nd World Health Assembly in Geneva, this side event provided a platform to explore challenges, bottlenecks, and bold solutions for transforming and scaling up the NCD response.
Panellists explored big questions such as how do we ensure this goal of Universal Health Coverage (UHC) translates into tangible change for people trying to access, navigate, and receive quality health services? How do we ensure the very particular challenges of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) alongside other global health priorities are fully incorporated and addressed via national health benefit packages and insurance schemes, whilst remaining within reach for governments?
Two high-level panels comprising government ministers, leaders of health and development agencies, people living with NCDs and youth were challenged to re-think global health in the lead up to the UN High-Level Meeting on UHC to best ensure we truly achieve Health for All.
